Products Description

Semaglutide 5mg is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It is a synthetic analogue of the human incretin hormone GLP-1, designed to have increased resistance to degradation by the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) enzyme, resulting in a significantly extended half-life.

Core mechanism of action: It works in a glucose-dependent manner by activating GLP-1 receptors in the body-that is, it only stimulates insulin secretion when blood glucose levels rise, thus the risk of hypoglycemia is relatively low.

Conclusion

The test results comply with the requirements of in-house specification.

Function

1. Promotes Insulin Secretion

Activates GLP-1 receptors on pancreatic β cells, increasing intracellular cAMP levels and thus promoting glucose-dependent insulin release. This means the drug works "on demand" when blood sugar rises, unlike the fixed blood sugar-lowering pattern of traditional insulin drugs.

2. Inhibits Glucagon Secretion:

Reduces glucagon secretion from pancreatic α cells, further decreasing hepatic glucose output and helping to maintain stable blood sugar levels.

3. Delays Gastric Emptying:

Significantly slows the rate at which gastric contents empty into the duodenum, allowing food to remain in the stomach for a longer period. This effect directly results in:

Prolonged duration of satiety

Reduced postprandial blood sugar fluctuations

Lower total food intake

Semaglutide treatment type ii diabetes

4. Central Appetite Suppression

By acting on GLP-1 receptors in the brain (especially the hypothalamus), Semaglutide 5mg transmits "satiety" signals to the appetite center, reducing appetite and food intake. This is one of its core mechanisms for weight management.

5. Cardiovascular and Metabolic Improvements
Clinical studies have shown that semaglutide offers multiple metabolic benefits:

Lowering systolic and diastolic blood pressure

Improving lipid profile (lowering total cholesterol, LDL-C, and triglycerides)

Reducing the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (cardiovascular death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, and non-fatal stroke)

How To Use Semaglutide?

1. Required Equipment

Semaglutide 5mg vial

Bacteriostatic Water (or Sterile Water for Injection)

Alcohol swabs

Sterile syringe (e.g., Insulin syringe or 1ml syringe)

Vial access needle (if not using an insulin syringe with a fixed needle)

2. Reconstitution Steps

Prepare: Wash hands thoroughly and swab the rubber stopper of the Semaglutide vial with an alcohol swab. Allow it to dry.

Draw Diluent: Draw up 2ml to 2.5ml of Bacteriostatic Water into the syringe.

Note: Using 2ml will yield a concentration of 2.5mg per ml. Using 2.5ml will yield 2.0mg per ml.

Inject: Slowly inject the diluent against the inner glass wall of the vial. Do not shoot the water directly onto the powder cake, as this can cause foaming or denature the peptide.

Swirl (Do NOT Shake): Gently roll and swirl the vial until the powder is completely dissolved and the solution is clear. Do not shake vigorously, as this can damage the peptide structure.

Visually Inspect: The solution should be clear and colorless, with no particles.

3.Storage After Mixing

Once reconstituted, store the vial in a refrigerator (2°C to 8°C / 36°F to 46°F).

Use within 28 days (if using Bacteriostatic Water, which contains preservatives). Discard any unused solution after this period.

4. Withdrawing a Dose

Swab the vial stopper with alcohol.

Insert the syringe needle, turn the vial upside down, and withdraw the required volume based on your desired dose and the concentration you calculated.

Inject according to your research protocol or medical guidance (typically subcutaneous injection).
